Platmin’s four key projects – Pilanesberg, Mphahlele, Grootboom and Loskop – are located on the Bushveld Complex of South Africa, a geological structure that is estimated to contain approximately 90% of the world’s platinum resources as well as some 80% of its chrome.
A feasibility study has been completed (SRK Consulting – announced July 2007) for the Pilanesberg Project and engineers appointed (Dowding Reynard & Associates) to design and build facilities to mine and process ore from the two open pits. Exploration, Mineral Resource delineation and feasibility work is being progressed on the other key projects.
Since the adoption of a new constitution in February of 1997, South Africa has continued its status as one of the most stable countries in Africa.
